An Ethan Stowell classic, often referred to as "The King." Homemade spicy sausage simmered in tomato sauce with fresh marjoram and chili, tossed with hand made rigatoni and topped with shaved pecorino cheese.
pork, fennel seed, chili flakes, red wine, red wine vinegar, tomatoes, marjoram, parsley, parmesan reggiano, flour, egg yolks, olive oil
Winner.
Really delicious. Will order again.
Excellent! Some spice so may not be ideal for all.
Delicious as usual.
Yup
Perfecto! The sausage had just the right kick to it.
Tasty but dry.
Great portion size, but a little dry. Could use more sauce. I've had this at tavolata and loved it, but they give more sauce :-(
Always perfect!
Great! But not the same as Tavolata. Like 1/2 the sauce and 1/4 of the cheese they give in restaurant! More cheese please!
Surprisingly substantial and nicely seasoned. However, the meat portion is very small. Overall, nicely done.
Just the right amount of spice! Tasty!
It was excellent. Very flavorful and I liked it a lot.
Delicious flavor, hearty meal, nice chewy pasta with a flavorful sauce, generous portion. Both my 11 year old son and I loved it
Perfect
Spicy and delicious. Could have used a bit more sauce, but it was good.
There are less expensive dinners that I prefer
Good flavors but pasta was dry, needed more sauce.
Fantastic
Tastes like Grandma Rizzoli's ... very good, but pedestrian fare for most families.
Spicier than last time!!
Fabulous! Large portion
Very yummy comfort food - especially like the meatballs.
The first time I tried this it was absolutely amazing. The second time, it was just okay.
Holy smokes! Yum!
One of my fav so far. Great portion size, love the sausage and spice! Reheats beautifully.
Delicious. Nice kick and addicting. Yum.
OMG. So good! Really big portion, too. We loved it.
Great but portion a lot smaller than last week!
As good as something you'd eat at Rione XIII! So delectable.
Very ample portion, so easy to heat up & have something so comforting & delicious!
Delicious! The meal heated up beautifully, and the texture was perfect. Portion size was just right. I will certainly order this again!
This is phenomenal.
Delicious just like when I go to Tavolata! Highly recommend!
Love this dish! I was disappointed that the cheese was on top of it this time. Last time I ordered this it was on the side. I prefer that because I'm dairy free.
I thought this was pretty good, my husband wasn't a fan. It was a tad salty for our tastes.
It says spicy but it was a little to spicy for my tastes.
Too spicy for me, oops!
The dish itself: 4-star, as the flavor was good and pasta the right consistency; however, could have used more sauce.
Overall, only 3-stars: This did not feel like a complete meal. It needs a side vegetable/salad and garlic bread to round out as a meal; on its own, it feels like I'm just eating leftovers.
Flavor was good but pasta was a bit mushy and dry. I added olive oil which made it better. But the main problem was the texture of the pasta.
A little disappointed...good flavor, but not very much sausage at all. Somewhat dry once reheated; could have used a little more sauce. There are better Lish values out there.
Disappointed by this dish. It was rather dry, and expensive for a pretty normal kind of pasta dish - and compared to other more interesting dishes on Lish. Probably not ordering this again.
At the restaurant, he puts way more sausage in.. You feel and taste the spiciness long after dinner... Your version didn't measure up.
I wouldn't have said anything... But, you asked..

The recipe changed, it's not as good as it was. Will not be buying it in the future.
Portion is a bit too small.
Just so-so. I added more cheese and that helped, but overall mediocre.
This dish was a little problematic. It's so hard to heat pasta. A smaller portion at a time might be why but a minute and a half stirred, then another minute and a half is way too long on my microwave. I cooked a total of 2 minutes, added a tablesppon or two of water to reconstitute the sauce a bit. I loved the pasta when I didn't overheat, the first batch caused some to get rubbery. I loved the basil bits. Just the right amount of spiceyness. The sausage was probably good but it's not my favorite. I realized that sausage rigatoni probably isn't my pasta dish preference, very hearty, but I hope to try other Pasta Dishes if Ethan Stowell posts them. How about carbonara? Or anything with pancetta? Serving with a little bit of extra sauce to stir in might be nice as the pasta absorbs the sauce.
